Home Elevator Warranty vs Maintenance: What to Check
Before choosing a home elevator, ask for the warranty and maintenance terms in writing. A warranty addresses covered cases under its terms, while a maintenance contract sets out agreed servicing. Details vary by proposal and component, so review the documents for your project.
How do warranty and maintenance differ?
Ask which defects or situations the warranty covers and who assesses and resolves them. Review the maintenance schedule, routine work, fault reporting and visit records. A warranty alone does not establish whether scheduled visits or every spare part are included.
How long is the warranty and when does it start?
Ask for the duration and start date in writing for each component or service with different terms. Confirm whether coverage begins at handover, commissioning or another date stated in the offer. SkyLift warranty details are specified in the proposal and contract for your project; ask the team to explain them before signing.
Which parts and work are covered?
Review the coverage for the machine, doors, controller and other components in your offer. Ask about labour, travel, diagnosis, replacement, consumables and exclusions. Do not assume every component has the same term or conditions.
How do I request service and keep records?
Keep the quotation, contract, handover record, elevator details and maintenance reports. Ask how to report a fault, when requests are received and how additional work is approved. Follow the equipment instructions and your service agreement.
Is emergency service included?
SkyLift offers free lifetime emergency service subject to its service terms and approved coverage. Ask for the applicable situations, channels and conditions in writing. If someone is trapped, follow the building’s emergency instructions and contact the relevant emergency services and maintenance provider. Do not force doors or attempt a rescue yourself.
